The Plaza Hotel, the iconic 20-story structure in Midtown Manhattan, has attracted luminaries and tourists alike since it was built more than 110 years ago. Few, however, are lucky enough to call the landmark property home, as the 282-room hotel has only 151 separate private residences. High above the city streets, Tommy Hilfiger and his wife, Dee, have channeled the hotel's old-world glamour into a modern-day home for themselves.

In an exclusive video, Tommy and Dee Hilfiger take AD inside their sprawling apartment and show off their French-bistro-style kitchen, modern den, and "the room they never use." Plus, the fashion designer shows how he has "set up his own boutique" not far from his wife's personal "glam room." Photographs of rock and roll musicians, an LED mirror television, and a clandestine bar tucked into a wall makes the space feel fresh; significant amounts of crown molding and souvenirs salvaged from the Ritz Paris and the original New York Times building make it feel like a throwback to another era. There's even a direct nod to the hotel's history: a grand mural in the couple's tea ("and pizza") room painted by Hillary Knight, who illustrated the famous Eloise book series, which was set in the Plaza.

With personal added touches throughout the precisely designed apartment—including art from Mick Jagger, gifts from Karl Lagerfeld, and photographs by Annie Leibovitz—you may need to watch the video two or three (or more) times to catch every detail of this truly enviable home.
