These Photos of Accidental Wes Anderson Movie Backdrops Are Going Viral
“Wes World”—that quirky, slightly vintage, vaguely Mitteleuropean, candy-colored realm realized by filmmaker Wes Anderson—is, for most who have seen one of his eight feature films, unmistakable. Although distinct to Anderson’s oeuvre—which includes The Royal Tenenbaums, The Darjeeling Limited, and The Grand Budapest Hotel—his sublime sets are also somehow familiar, ambiguous enough to exist just about anywhere and at any point in time. They also tend to be striking—not so easily ignored, characters in and of themselves—which is why so many of us have either said or overhead someone else utter, “This place could be in a Wes Anderson movie.”
