While Mayor Bill de Blasio works to secure more affordable housing for New York City, he's offering up one of his own properties for rent. The top floor of de Blasio's two-story Brooklyn home is on the market for $1,825 a month, reports StreetEasy. Other tenants live on the first level, but this one-bedroom, one-bath unit still features plenty of space, with a large bedroom and roomy kitchen boasting a pass-through window. De Blasio and his wife, Chirlane McCray, have owned the place since 2004, and it was previously the residence of the mayor's late mother, Maria Wilhelm. There may not be a more perfect home base for those looking to do their civic duty.
