Chefchaouen, MoroccoTucked away in Morocco’s Rif Mountains, Chefchaouen is renowned as the Blue City. Founded in 1471 and eventually becoming a haven for religious converts, the area is full of historic buildings in various shades of blue because of religious teachings that say it symbolizes the sky and heavenly afterlife.

Zhangye, ChinaThe Zhangye Danxia National Geological Park is home to rainbow-hued mountains, created over the course of 24 million years. Named a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2010, this geological wonder provides a very surreal hiking experience for visitors.
